Friday Night Track Setup

We'll need some adult volunteers to help get ready for race day. We will meet at the High Bridge Fire House on Friday night (Time TBD), where we will proceed to set the track up. If your scout has made a car, but they will not be able to attend the race on Saturday, then let us know and we will arrange to have his car run during his absence.

Saturday Night RACE TIME

The fire house will be open at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon for further weight checks and car tweaking. There'll be a pit area with tools, glue, weights, etc. for last minute adjustments. Car registration will begin a 5 pm. After your scout’s car has been inspected and registered it will then be sequestered until race time. Once the car is sequestered, you or your scout won’t be able to handle the car again until the end of the night after the races are over. The only exception is if due to any incidents while racing a car is damaged, the scout will have 5 minutes to try and repair the car. The car will then have to be re-inspected prior to returning to the race track. Race times may change

DO NOT BE LATE!

Den races will begin at 5:30 pm. Each den will begin in heats amongst themselves. Each car will race four times, once per lane. The finishing times will then be averaged for each car. First, second, and third place will be decided by the highest averaged times in that den. Medals will be distributed based on those standings.

*Please Note*

Finishing fourth or fifth in a den doesn’t necessarily eliminate a car from the finals. On the other hand, even if a car finishes in the top 3rd of its den it MIGHT NOT advance to the finals. Cars advance based on the fastest times only! Please prepare your scout for the possibility of either outcome.

After all the Dens have completed their races, the Pack leadership will vote on which cars from each Den (who did not finish in the top three spots) is the best looking car for that Den. A medal will be given for this award as well.

After the Den races, but before the Grand Finals we’ll have an Open race for siblings. The top three cars with the fastest averages will receive medals.

The top twelve times in the Pack will advance to the Grand Finals. NOT the top three cars from each den. For the Grand Finals first, second, and third place will be decided by the highest averaged times. Trophies will be awarded at the next Pack meeting based on those standings

High Bridge Fire Department

The High Bridge Fire Department hosts us free of charge every year for this event.  They are big supporters of us, and it means a great deal to them to be able to have us each year for our derby.  We’ll be arranging a Donation for them during the evening with any proceeds raised going to the High Bridge Fire House as a thank you for hosting us. Please help us thank and support our local fire department by helping with a donation.

Call To Arms

This is a family run Pack.  Please consider helping out wherever and whenever possible.  Help will be needed for set-up Friday night, at the Registration desk, in the kitchen, as Race Officials, and for clean-up of the track and room at the end of the evening.  Announcements of which Dens are racing will be made so you will not miss your son’s race. Mike Thomsen is coordinating the derby this year so if you can help out please let him know so he can plan this event.
